This is a wash or arroyo, usually dry and dusty but sometimes wet and sloshy when the rainy season comes. I like this one with its reflections and undulations, showing ribbons of color. I have fond memories of galloping my horse up arroyos near my home--the perfect place to get up a little speed in the soft sandy areas.
