Floating in Summer
As a farewell to summer I thought I'd post this impressive cloud I spotted over the Sandias one day. I'm not ready for sweaters and hot tea and long socks yet, which is good since the temperature is in the 90s F right now. The monsoons are past and it's chillier in the mornings, but the temps soar in mid-afternoon. The painting is on Bristol vellum. Hope you like it!

I 've become more and more intrigued with using watercolor techniques for the sky, just letting the paint do what it does when wet...

Love it Deborah--we have moved over the summer and I have been totally away from my painting. I am so ready to get back to it--and used u for a bit of inspiration. Love this one! We still own our other house which the buyers pulled out of at last minute--trying to get rid of anxiety that has filled me until the house is sold again. I am ready to focus on painting. Thanks as always for your beautiful works.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Robyn. I love painting thee big floating clouds! They seem to loom over the landscape so majestically. When I get stressed I make time to at least look at the sky, if I don't have time or the inclination to paint it. Hope you enjoy getting the brushes wet again!
