Pear, Pear, Pear

These pears were just delicious, both to paint and to eat! I  was intrigued with the blush of red along one side. Are pears some kind of rite of passage for every artist? Much the way every pastelist is expected to paint a ballerina! Predictable, I'm sure, but I'm really enjoying my little fruit and vege explorations. I hope you are, too.

These three are on black Pastelmat.

  1. Deborah,
I'm enjoying your work. Any plans on making a step-by-step for this site? If not a video, progression photos with explanation would be awesome. Just a thought. :)

  2. Mike, forgive me for neglecting to answer this question. It's a good thought. I'll see what I can do. Meantime, check out some of the threads over at WetCanvas in the Watercolor Studio. The Gouache Corner has some step-by-step illustrations. And in the Casein, Gouache and Egg Tempera Forum there you'll find even more...
