Feeling Lost

In contrast to the last post, this apple seems lost and sad, as if a part of him is missing... Okay, I admit that maybe I'm carrying this anthropomorphism a little too far.

I enjoy the palette in this painting. The warm rusts enhance the cool yellow-greens nicely, and give some emphasis to the sliced areas that are lighter in value. It's also on Arches 300 lb. cold-pressed paper.

  2. Hi, Deborah. I am so glad you found my blog. I have so enjoyed seeing your art through your newsletter. Haven't been up on Wet Canvas in such a long time - every once in a while I pop up to see what people are doing. Many of the artists I liked from WC are up on blogs and Facebook.
This is a lovely painting - the color absolutely sizzles. Beautiful texture on the skin of the apple too!

  3. The rusts really make the greens pop on this piece. I have found my gouache paints and my arches, now you have really tempted me to try my hand at these atc size paintings!

  4. Thanks, Helder. :D

Claire, thank you. I don't get too much time at WC any more, though now and again I'm there, mostly posting these little gouache paintings.

Go for it, Margo! I love the little ones.

The Intention to Blog...

I always have such good intentions to post my paintings on this blog. (Isn't there something about the road paved with good intentions?)...
